    1. Yes, he looks up to Baba, and he wishes he was accepted by him

  3. Why does Baba treat Amir so poorly?

    1. It is almost like he doesn't want to be known as a friend he has only seen him as a servant not a friend.

    3. I think it's because Baba can't relate to Amir. Amir is nothing like Baba was as a child.

    4. Baba wishes that Amir could have more of his athletic skills and be just like him. He doesn't really want Amir to be writing and always reading books, he wants his son to be outdoors and playing soccer.

  4. What does Hazara mean?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think it's a regional group determined by religion, like how Hazaras are Shi'a Muslims and Amir is Pastun and a Sunni Muslim.

    2. Evan beat me to this.

    3. how do you know that

  5. How will Baba treat Amir after he starts writing?

    ReplyDelete

    1. I think Baba will still think its great that Amir is doing something that he loves but he probably wishes that Amir would be more into soccer or something athletic because he wants his son to turn out just like he did.

      Delete
    2. He wont be happy because he wants him to be sporty and really athletic not reading all the time.

      Delete
    3. I think that Baba is proud of Amir to find something that he loves but he wants him to be more athletic and more like himself.

      Delete
    4. I think that Baba won't like it Even though he loves writing, Baba probably will think it's not beneficial or he'll think it's girly. He'll probably ignore Amir or try to make him stop writing and go into sports.

  6. 1) Why does Amir not let Hassan play with he is around other kids?

2)Does belittling others make us feel better in the long run?

    3)Does Baba love Amir?

    1. Amir doesn't want to be seen with his servant even though he seems to be with him a lot. It is hard to decide how one will feel in the long run because some people will not care how they feel. I am not really sure how Baba feels about Amir.

    2. I believe he does, but I think that he wishes his son were more successful

  7. Why is Amir’s father so against him being different? What’s so bad about him writing a short story *which sounds amazing by the way*?

    1. I think he wants Amir to have the same interests as he did when he was a kid, and he also needs somebody to take over his business after he dies

  8. Who is Rahim Khan? Is he apart of the family?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. He is Baba's friend and business partner

      Delete
    2. I can't find it, but I'm pretty sure that Rahim Khan works with Baba in the business they own.

      Delete
    3. You can find it in the middle of the second paragraph on page 5... Rahim is his best friend and they also work together

  9. Why did Ali say ‘they’re hunting ducks’? Of all the things to use, why hunting ducks?

    1. He probably didn't want Hassan and Amir to be afraid at the time. By telling them what was going on, they probably would of started to freak out and be unsure of what to do and he didn't want them to be scared over something they had no control over.

      Delete
    2. maybe he didnt want to scare amir

      Delete
    3. But still, of all the things. He could have said something else.

      Delete
    4. But what else could he have said?

  10. Does Hassan wish he knew his mom? Does he wish she was still there?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. He obviously would since she died giving birth to him and he doesn't have a mother figures.

      Delete
    2. what if he never wanted to meet his mother because she left him

      Delete
    3. Hassan's mom is the one who left though, not the one that died. And I don't think so, because he talks as if he doesn't like her, and he hates her.
Page 6, "Hassan never talked about his mother, as if she'd never existed."

      Delete
    4. Amir's mother was the one who died after giving birth. Hassan's mother left 5 days after he was born. I think he'd want to know his mother and find out why she left.

  11. maybe he considers himself in a higher class than hassan

    1. He does because he's a arrogant little punk.

    2. Since he is technically Hassans servant he treats him like dirt

  13. Amir would only sees him as a servant and doesn't really think him as a friend because of his low position of his family heritage.

  14. When it comes to sinning, I think you get to decide on how it changes you. You can kill someone and go to jail, but you have two choices. When released from jail, don't feel bad and act as if you don't care, or you can work your hardest to become a better person. There is always a choice.

    1. Do your good deeds determine who you are as well?

      Delete
    2. But if you kill someone that will haunt you. You may try your hardest to become a better person, but you can't stop thinking about it. Also what about the person's family you killed. How will they move on when someone they loved died and that person is still out. Cause that person could do it again. So actually there are 4 different choices. Don't feel bad. Work to be a better person. Go back to killing people. Or death. Last one is gruesome...

    3. Also in society, we have been taught that someone who does good things is a good person, and vica versa. But there are people who THINK they are doing the right thing but it's not. Hitler for example. Or leaders of other countries. It may even be something as simple as manipulation.

  15. How has Amir's family gained their fortune

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Amir's family gained their fortune by his grandfather being a judge and Baba growing many large industries in Afghanistan.

      Delete
    2. I thought it was because Amirs mother's family was royal.

  17. Is jealousy a common reason for dislike?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes, it is because jealousy usually leads to disliking the person for what the other person has which this person doesn't have at all.

      Delete
    2. Probably. It may not be as strong as dislike, but you may think bad thoughts about them, or want to do things to them because they are jealous of what they have.

  18. why is Amir so mean and doesn't think he is his son?
